Greetings Achaeans,

I regret to inform all of you who were looking forward to it, that the
International Drinking Competition is cancelled. All entrances fees are
being refunded immediatly.

What saddens me is not that no one wishes to participate, bu the excuses
as to why they wont participate. The ranking member of a particular city
told me that the city will not participate due to the fact that the city
and it's people do not believe in alcohol. I was about ready to yell at
him that he dares lie through his teeth to me and tell me his people
dont belive in alcohol, when i cannot walk the streets of that city
without seeing a minimum number of people in a drunken stupor. And I did
tell him that in a much more civil manner. He had no reply to it.

Then there was the excuse that the idea of an international competition
where communities are represented by individuals is great, but couldnt
it be something like sparring. The reason it isnt sparring is because i
wanted this to be a peaceful event. Sparring is a test of ones might, a
guild with a high level warrior could easily defeat a clan designed for
novices and their representative. Drinking is possibly the only
competition where a level 1 weakling and a level 80 hulk could be on
equal and fair levels. Sparring can also be brutal and violent, on and
off the arena, which defeats the purpose of a peaceful goodwill
competition.

I will keep the idea of organizing the envent open in my minds, in hopes
that one day many of you will shed your skins of deception, hypocrasy
and brutality, and request that I set up the event. Untill that day
comes, god speed.
