Dearest Shakti,
Yes, you have a point. The thereotical founding of the complex
organization known as The Holy Church seems to have originated with the
Rite of Passing by Imithia, and a few devout friends who wished to
honour the purity that Pasiphae led throughout her life.
However, the Church also grew. It grew to become an organization which
stood for Goodness, Light, and Order. It grew and fought to push back
what was viewed as the ever-growing chaos and evil in the complicated
world. It is this new growth, this stance, that built the Chrysalis
Basilica.
What Verlaine did, as a member of the Church is not a matter of public
opinion, it is a matter of principle. Verlaine recently rejoined the
Church after near 60 years of absence. This rejoining held vows. Vows to
be eternally vigilant to the causes of the Church and to continue the
fight against Darkness, Evil, and Chaos.
This action comes when a person who has sworn to fight Chaos, Evil and
Darkness, makes a pledge of devotion and support to one who shall
slaughter innocent children for cruel experiments. One who shall worship
the abilities to dominate others, to summon Chaotic entities, study the
paths which the Church once removed from history. Even now, you are
learning how to transform yourself into a Chaos Lord upon death.
No, Shakti, it is not a matter of what others will think. It is not a
matter of public relations. It is not a matter of love. It is a matter
of a person who swore to uphold Good, Order, Light, Justice and oppose
Chaos, Evil and Darkness, supporting someone who holds Chaos true to his
or her heart.
Blessed be,
