Chaos

Since the subject is brought up I figured that I would offer my opinions
on Chaos since it is one of my favourite topics to debate. Before I get
started I would like it known, however, that I do not make this post as
a Jester or an Ashtanite nor do I make it with any personal or political
agenda. It just happens to be a subject I like to think I understand
fairly well, at least better than most.
When the question is asked, What is Chaos? The most common answer I get
is that Chaos is the Opposite of Order. I personally believe that
nothing can be further from the truth. Order is borne out of Chaos and
help sacred within Chaos. Without Chaos there would be no Order. No, the
opposite of Order is in fact, disorder.
That still leaves the question. What is Chaos?
To me Chaos is all things. For me to explain Chaos, I ask you to picture
a giant wheel that encompasses all things. Upon this wheel there are
many spokes, which represent the many different single paths. The Single
Path's of Righteousness. Of Evil. Of War. Of Peace. Of Light. Of Dark.
Of Misunderstanding. Of Comprehenion. Of Time. Of Void. Of Life and of
Death, are but a small list. And not only circling but enveloping all
these many spokes of Single Paths is the one thing that created them all
and holds them together. Chaos.
Once upon a time, I held a conversation with several Church members who
were concerned about Eris being my Guilds Matron for they felt that
Chaos was Evil and I could not help but laugh. For to think that Chaos
is Evil any more than it is Good is simply laughable. In fact, I have
witnessnessed the Followers of Chaos combating Evil more often than any
other group in recent years. I have sat back and personally witnessed
long stemming battles and fueds between Eris and Sartan ever since her
return to the land yet it appears if many have turned a blind eye and a
deaf ear to this fact.
The thing with Chaos is, it has no direct opposite and the reason for
this is because it is all things. If you take away every single thing
imaginable, Chaos will still exist, albeit it be the only thing existing
before it creates again. To me Chaos is in many ways a lifegiver, for it
has been birth and mother to all. But there are those who would not see
the Good of Chaos and only choose to focus on a few if not one of it's
many single spokes upon the Wheel of Creation that Chaos is.
I don't know the minds of the Church and I won't pretend to. I know that
I certainly have no stance toward or against the Church in either way.
It just seems to me that the Church is a great persecutor of things it
neither understands or tries to understand and one of these things is
Chaos. From what I understand, the Church stands against Chaos, yet it
doesn't know why. Indeed it would appear that the Church does not even
know what Chaos is, much less to be able to know why they are against
it.
And that perhaps is why no information can be given, for they simply do
not know themselves. Something certainly that no one could be blamed for
Chaos is a greatly splendored and confusing thing. Sometimes my head
hurts just thinking about it, but oh the thoughts it provokes!
Long have I hoped that one day, enlightenment of Chaos would reach this
honourable institution that I believe the Church to be and that greater
understanding of what Chaos actually is would be acheived and in hopes,
create better relations between several factions and cities whom were
perhaps at one time, against great odds with each other. Though I know a
total plateau of utopian peace will never be acheived in my lifetime,
these talks and discussions between the Goddess of Chaos and the Lord of
Righteousness gives me greater hope.
In dreams of peace, with Valnuara's blessing of course
