With your ascent to power, we, the Ruling Council of Ashtan had high
hopes that the Infernal guild would once more find a path to honour.
Surely with a Knight such as yourself at the helm one would assume such
a statement to hold at least some validity. But it seems that this hope
was in vain, as you appear to be following in the footsteps of your
predecessor.

I come to you this day to address a bit of information that has recently
been brought to my attention. You no doubt are aware of exactly what
this information I speak of is. I do not come to you with elaborate
words or any offering to negotiate, as you have made your position on
the situation with Ashtan quite clear. Allow me to make Ashtan's
position just as clear.

If the Infernals do intend to declare a Cold War against the Bastion of
the North, as you yourself have been plotting to lead them to do, be
prepared to be met with the swiftest of responses from the City of
Ashtan. We do not take lightly those who would conspire to disrupt the
lives of our citizens, nor do we take lightly those who conspire to harm
the safety and sanctity of the city.

Do not think for one moment we are sitting by idly while you are, just
as Hwolf was before you, actively working against the City of Ashtan. We
are aware of what you are doing, and more prepared than you could
fathom.

In honour of the 300th year celebrations, respectfully request that you
delay any response you may have to this missive until after the
festivities.
