The Occultists

While it does sadden how things wound up at a meeting that could have
gone better, what is done is done. I guess the best thing to say is that
the Jesters and the Occultists got off on the wrong foot together after
so many years. However I would like to be a liason to repair such damage
as was done, and from my current talks with the Occultists I know and am
close to, it seems we are already upon the road of recovery.

As far as Silvestri's Vow of Secrecy goes, I fully intend to uphold this
Vow. Silvestri would have wanted that, as he was speaking on behalf on
the entire guild when he signed such an agreement. I'll state freely and
publicly that the Jesters will retain the secrecy of Tarot to ourselves.

I know many have attempted to undermind this vow, and thier intentions
pure, I am certain. But I really have to laugh at such attempts for what
good jokes that they are! All one has to do is watch one of us with open
eyes to see what a card does. I can hand over a card to the wisest of
sages and tell them what the card does, but unless he knows the secrets
of the arcane magicks that went into imbueing such card, the rapid
mantra of incantation that goes on in the mind of the user in order to
charge any one particular card to get it to do the marvelous things it
does, those are the secrets that must be protected and indeed those
secrets are very much safe.

Penned by my hand on the 18th of Scarlatan, in the year 299 AF.
