Kryvar's Proof

After trying subtler measures to try to prevent yourself from making a
fool of yourself, I have lost hope in your intelligence for public
affairs. Though your citizens might hold you in high regard, in order
for you to achieve any sort of goal in the public arena outside of
Hashan's sphere of influence, you MUST stick to the facts. You MUST make
at least SOME attempt at pointing out information to PROVE your
accusations. You MUST NOT make blind accusations without completely
understanding the situation. For if you did understand the situations
you speak of, you would time and again make a fool of yourself in
Sapience's public eye. Who exactly are you trying to convince with your
posts? Perhaps the naive and uneducated?
Let us shine light on to the fundamentals of your blatant lies, not only
for your own sake, but for the sake of the Truth of the matter.
As you stated, the burden of proof is upon us. So here is your proof.
The Council that made the decision to open the chest is no more. The
Sultaness accepted the sentence of the three Divinities presiding over
Shallam's trial-Lord Pentharian, Lord Agatheis, and Lady Ethene.
Dresden's successor, as well, accepted full responsibility for his
actions. Both seriously felt guilty for the loss of innocent life.
Ryvern went out of his way to pine for his actions.
The trial that Shallam held was based on counts of violations of
Shallam's Code of Conduct. The Code defines what is to be expected of a
citizen, and of the citizen's leaders. Citizens are expected to never
harm another among the realms without reasonable cause to do so. Those
that were found guilty, accepted their sentences. It should be noted
that prior to the trial itself, several accused approached the Dias and
admitted their guilt. To undermine the validity of the trial, as you
repeatedly do, is to undermine the authority of the Divine. The Divine
interpreted Shallam's laws-laws made with the ideals of Justice in mind.
Lady Miramar advised us on the path to Justice. Lord Pentharian guides
us on the path to Goodness. To claim that the Trial was biased, or
prejudiced towards the accused is an utter insult to the Garden itself.
In addition, as the Trial was completely out of the Council's hands,
there could be no thought of obstruction of justice. The Council could
never,as you say, "soften the blows on those we need most." Shallam
values integrity, fairness, and liberty. No man or woman, no matter how
much power they wield, no matter what necessity they pose to the city,
will be aggrandized. Justice falls equally to all. And we demonstrate
that.
Shallam is a compassionate city. We offer reparations because we feel
guilty, not because we wish to "save our image." We made a mistake. That
chest should have never been opened, with the prior knowledge that
innocent lives would have been taken. Is Hashan going to refuse us an
opportunity to demonstrate our guilt? Or is Hashan going to tell us what
punishment the culprits desire, to satisfy their petty vengeance?
Unreasonably elevated reparations made to take revenge for loss of life
is unacceptable. When we punish someone, we punish him on the principle
that we are TEACHING him his wrong. If we compensate for the damage we
have caused, and we understand our faults, why is there a need for
exceptionally high reparations that serve more to cripple sinners than
allowing them to change their hearts?
I ask you Kryvar, to read these words carefully. I am taking on the
responsibility to answer EVERY one of your absurd posts with facts, on
behalf of Sapience. I apologize to those that check their news and are
forced to wade past your hollow words. And I will, even after I am broke
with reasonable responses to your incompetent insults, find a way to
stop you from making a fool of yourself. I know you have potential,
Kryvar. You can persuade people. You've convinced Hashan that you are
worthy of a Regent. Wouldn't you be more convincing if you appeal to the
intelligence of Sapience? Will you educate yourself on facts, and teach
yourself manners, and stop deceiving yourself into believing filthy
lies? For your own sake?
