The Degradation of Society

In my nearly ninety-two years, I've witnessed and even interacted with
many ploys and events within the lands. Been friends with two mortals
who have since Ascended into the Divine. Seen wars and battles, some won
and some lost; some glorious and some revolting. I've seen fools become
strong leaders, and strong leaders become fools. The proud become
children running from the shadows. Kings among men, become controlled by
the dirtiest of whores. Yet in all of that, I have never once seen a man
or woman so foolishly speak to their betters. To the Divine.
How is it men can follow someone so foolish, what kind of knight...nay,
what kind of man, would follow a fool so blindly. Leaders are always to
be followed, orders to be obeyed. Though, if that leader would sacrifice
the lives, and the very strength of that guild out of arrogance, he is
no leader at all.
I don't really know why I'm writing this, maybe there isn't a point.
Maybe I'm just some senile old man who can't seem to comprehend the
logic in these events as I once could.
Maybe, though, I'm just the only one who see's things as they are.
Hwolf, you'll appologize or you will find me calling you out every
moment your soul is within your body. As would any other mortal who
proclaims such arrogance. It degrades myself, and every other mortal, to
allow you to live among us. A festering sore of wasted space and
intelligence.
Maybe the Divine have found some new understanding of us Mortals over
the last few years, and do not take a life as easily as they once did.
I, however, have no problem doing so.
Penned by my hand on the 14th of Mayan, in the year 296 AF.
