Calla, in response to your claim that Hashan has made no
demands...perhaps Drakul was merely telling Aldair 2 million gold
in order to get her to break off talks then, and it wasn't really
a demand? While you may find what she offered ridiculous, so
do we find Hashan asking for 2 million gold ludicrous. While
there may be a middle ground that both sides can come to,
the fact is that Shallam has appointed 2 Viziers now
to officially attempt to come to an agreement with your city
to end the war, and if they keep getting told 2 million or
nothing, its not going to go anywheres.

Many others lost their lives in that catastrophe, and I
would never attempt to personally put a price on ANY life
and the sweat and toil involved in it..yet, I also wouldn't
attempt to extort gold in exchange for lives gone either.
I believe the principles involved are more important than
the price involved, and any insistence on a multimillion
gold settlement is crass and sheer greed.

Kryvar..once again you can't even get the plain truth out
when quoting from my immediate post before you. I never said
Shallam was pondering the fairness of the charges..we are
pondering the PUNISHMENTS. Quite a difference there eh?
And there isn't anyone on the Council denying the fairness
of the charges..now that the punishments have been left
to us, we WILL deliberate and come up with what WE, not you,
think is fair..as its obvious that you would prefer to
see everyone even remotely associated with Shallam
devastated.

Ryvern..hmm..Ryvern lead us into a war? Hashan declared War,
Ryvern replaced Dresden, Ryvern turned down absurd demands...not much
leading "into" a war there.

Battles, Kryvar? You declared war on Shallam, not the other way
around. I never stated my intention to make you pay for any
actions of your city..why should I be hanging around your gates
fighting? I defend..and since my city is what you are supposedly
attacking(though everyone knows Ashtan has been doing the bulk
of all the fighting in opposition to Shallam, as usual), then of
course I should be in my city defending it. It almost sounds like
you would rather that Shallam, after having war declared on it
would go and camp out attacking your city further. I assure you,
that has never been our intent in this situation, nor will it become
our strategy in the future. Of course, this means you won't be
able to complain about us attacking you further, which is
one less whine you will have..that should make most of the
rest of Sapience very happy.

Hmm...damages caused to Hashan by Hashan having to go to war
to prove the Shallam leadership is corrupt..now thats an
interesting twist of words that means absolutely nothing,
in an attempt to extort gold for damages that were never inflicted.
As Shallam is not attacking your city in response to your
War declaration, what possible damages have been inflicted due to
the war? The deaths of the few Hashanites who have actually
joined Ashtan raids into the city, perhaps? Or your repeated
expenditure of gold on posting here, with fanatical rantings
that seldom touch the truth of the situation more than
obliquely? Enough REAL damage was done and everyone knows that,
you don't need to attempt to manufacture more.

The Shallam leadership, from the moment Ryvern ousted Dresden,
has indeed been willing to discuss a reasonable settlement.
Shallam has completely changed its leadership since the War was
declared, another sign that the citizens of the Jewel of the
East agree that changes need to be made. Shallam has appointed
2 Viziers to officially negotiate to end the war. If your negotiaters
find their initial offer unacceptable, and ours find yours
unacceptable..well, thats why they are there..I am certain
that if someone is willing to talk on your side about actually
ending it, and actually negotiating, then things will procede..
of course, that likely won't be you, with your massive hot air.

And your "not caring anymore"..well, other than taking a chance
to throw potshots in every direction, with little to no accuracy,
you haven't seemed to care at all. All you seem to want to
do is attempt to inflame the situation further every time you
take up quill and scroll, and certainly the entire land will
be thankful that you are stating you are done talking
about a place that no longer exists for you.
