Achaean News
Justice

Seems what Shylmysten is really asking for is justice. But I'm afraid I
must be the bearer of ill news, there is none to be had. You see, in a
perfect world acts such as the ones you describe would be dishonourable
and thus reprecussions would be expected. But apparently dishonour and
hypocrisy is all the rage these days. Especially if your alignment
happens to be what is barely passing for "Good" these days.
Anyone remember this quote...
Pentharian, the Luminescent says, "The sentencing will be held in 4
Achaean months after the court confers on a proper punishment for the
guilty. "Pentharian, the Luminescent says, "Court, adjorned."
How many months has passed since Pentharian said this? Roughly 18 to 19
months has passed. And Shallam is quiet. Save for the insulting offer
they gave for a peace offer. It took 13 months to remove Dresden from
her Ministry. Roughly 17 months for Ryvern to finally be replaced as
Sultan. And still Shallam is quiet.
The much debated "cycle" of the Gaian Tree was a farce too. There were
no druids helping to turn the tree. If anything I would question if they
helped keep it a tree. Though now to hear the druids and sents talk
there was never any agreement as to the cycle of the tree amongst them.
Just a suggestion.
And the only sound from the Forests are the whispering of the winds.
What you ask for is justice, Shylmysten. There is none. Good has been
defeated. And to the dismay of a great many in Ashtan this war had
nothing to do with it. Apathy and Egos slayed Good long before the
warriors in the alliance had a chance. There is no responsibility left
in the lands. Just look at what Shallamites said after Pentharian
declared the three guilty. There is a group that blames Him. How sad.
When you have run out of people to blame save yourself, you even turn on
your God.
Perhaps one day another city will arise to take Shallam's place in the
order of things. But that would be another tale. But this tale, for me,
is over. There is nothing worth fighting for. Justice? A dream that when
you open your eyes is gone. All that is left, is vengeance. So heal away
to your heart is content. Someone will remember your deeds. And
vengeance will occur. As empty and hollow as your attempts to explain
why you heal. But satisfying to those you have betrayed none the less.
