Religious Beliefs and Rhetoric

To Whom it May Concern,

Religious beliefs and subsequent actions are the most vehemently contested subjects upon this ledger which terms itself the "News" (in what I find to be only the very loosest interpretation of the word), and likely always shall be.

Despite the interesting twists, innuedos, and synonyms which increasingly persuading and talented writers incorporate into the otherwise age-worn arguments of the moral and ethical considerations of "Good" vs. "Evil", and the various personal interpretations thereof...

I have yet to ever read or hear tell of an instance in which a believer in the precepts of "Evil" has e'er been converted by the words of anyone in this forum. Conversely, I have also ne'er seen any evidence to indicate that member of the Basilica Chrysalis or her congregation has ever been persuaded to take up the Cause of "Evil" by the proverbial power of the pen.

For all of my eloquence and pretty words, I would be highly surprised if I were ever widely regarded as anything greater or lesser than the sum of the actions and decisions of my life. The words of this missive, and any other speech that I might endeavour to give, will fade from a man's memory even more quickly than the ink fades from this parchment. But to mold my life itself into a consistent and continual example of my faith and my beliefs is something that I would like to think would have a larger and longer-lasting impact on the world around me. Or, at the very least, those whom I might chance to meet in the course thereof.

Thus is my quiet challenge to all those who call themselves men of faith -- whatever that faith may be:

Save the breath with which you would speak idly of your "beliefs", and invest that breath in LIVING them, in its stead.

Thank You,
-- Sir D. Grimbrow
