Rejection of Peace

Mausolus' rejection of my pledge is not surprising. He will never accept any pledge in which I have even the slightest hint of possibly defending myself against unprovoked attacks. Obviously he will not be happy except if Priests and Templars may only walk the streets in Ashtan with big bull's eyes painted on their chests so that Occultists and their friends can rip their hearts out with more ease of use. The only reason this ficticious council wants the shrine gone is so it will be easier to kill Church members, which is why they reject any attempt at peace or an offer not to use the shrines except in self-defence.
Penned by my hand on the 22nd of Chronos, in the year 194 AF.
