Achaeans,
My name is Amicus, and as my name is intended, I have tried to be a friendly and helpful person. It was with this intention that I joined the Priests, a healing guild. At the time, it seemed a logical choice. I added the "Tolerant" epithet later, in an attempt to show that I would be helpful to anyone regardless of conflicting values or beliefs. This was my intention, but I am afraid it will be very hard for me to maintain this status as a result of recent actions taken against myself, as well as my guildbrothers and sisters.

In response to Damascas' attack against me, I would like to say that this was not an "example" but rather a bloodthirsty attack. First of all, I did not place the shrine there, and had no part in its construction. Secondly, it was build OUTSIDE THE GATES OF ASHTON...just type survey to see that it is not in a town, but on a ROAD. Your "commitee" may say whatever it wishes, but this shrine was placed outside of the city. Also, I have no power to remove the shrine, and even if I did, I see no way that killing me senslessly would provoke me to take such action.

For those of you who claim to have seen a shrine "slaughter innocents" I see two distinct possibilities: One is that you seem to think that "innocents" include those who attack Church members unprovoked. The other is that there are bugs in some of these rites. If this is the case, to quote one of the commitee members "That's not our problem", and you should BUG it.

In addition, I and other church members have been accused of "whining". This is a matter of opinion, but consider this. If the situation were reversed, and the Church made up the majority of the population, I believe your arguments would be viewed as "whining". However, this is not the case, and as such, call this what you will, but I will not sink to using Hellfire to create "examples" to prove my points.

I will attempt to put an end to some of the ignorance in regards to shrines. They are not "weapons of mass destruction"! They can be used to defend Priests, if we are forced to use such methods (which is sadly more often than any of us like). The shrines are not just for defending the priests, however. We gain power from the shrines, and this power can be used to heal or defend ANYONE, as well as ourselves. As for "mass destruction", they are not nearly as potent as a pack of Tarot cards or the many ablities an Occultist has wherever they go. And I find it hard to believe that it is believed that LEAVING a shrine is an outright act of war, while the shrines have only been used in defense of those who were attacked unprovoked. You do not find sensless killing an outright act of war, but allowing us to defend ourselves is?!?

In closing, I would like to say that in my time here, I have never attacked anyone unprovoked. In other words, I have defended myself and my guildbrothers and sisters. This is the way I work, contrary to what some persons have claimed. And in the future, I would appreciate it if people would refrain from attacking me if they can avoid it at all, and I do not appreciate "being made an example of". Also, for those of you who hide behind assasins, please just come out and let your gripes be known rather than wasting your hard-earned money.

Thank you for your time
Amicus
