The resignation of the Sinistar, and the rise of the Dark Lord

It seems my post to my son Raajin was a bit premature. I DO invite him back, but it will not be with me as his potential guild master.
In a post to Sarapis, I posed this question. Is it the perogative of a guildmaster to choose the god to patron his guild? or is it the perogative of the God to choose which man will be Guild master?

It was an honest question regarding the conduct of Lord Twilight. Twilight asked "nicely" for the patronage and I declined. He asked again later less nicely, and I declined again. It has been my deepest conviction that His Ethos and our code of honour are diametricly opposed. When His eagerness to take the Infernals evolved into a coup designed to overturn the guild master seat to put Him in as patron (affirmed to me individually by Ryvern, Piadda, and Valor), I was faced with a very difficult descision. I could let the coup run its course, or I could kill it before it started. I had already imagined most of what has befallen me, even then, before I outguilded the spies. I knew the slander and political and divine turbulance would be near fatal for me, if not entirely.
In the same post, I told Sarapis that I wanted Him to tell me if I did wrong by outguilding those people. His response was, that if the people want to vote Twilight in, they should have the chance. I had promised to step down if I was in the wrong, and if Sarapis says you are wrong, then you are wrong. I say that, not because he is Sarapis, but because He actually -IS- right every time, even when at first He can seem quite full of Himself. I have come to respect His reasoning more and more over the last year and a half, and although I feel extremely violated by Twilights strong-arming and the recent events, I am sure that Sarapis is right and I did the wrong thing.
A question some are asking, in dark corners and to my face, is "what if Valor had challenged you in a real election? would you outguild him?" and the question is of course, not by far. I have listened to the council of Malaclypse, Valor, Raajin, and many more in times of strife. I am not a tyrant, though I do seem to come off as a bit gruff. To prove this, I am calling an election. The point of all of this from the start was that I do indeed put the guild absolutley first in my thoughts, perhaps to an excess. If the guild is best suited to be run by someone else, then let it be so. I am not so proud as to think that there is not a better suited man to run the guild.
Here is my proposition... I hereby offer to reinstate all five of the people who I outguilded, and with the help of Lord Sarapis (which I am counting on Him giving), re-establishing your former guild rank. Any man who challenges is welcome, and I am sure there will be some.
Also, I will hold a guild referendum (I am not sure if it will be before or after the election, let us see how things fall out) and ask the guild members to vote whether or not they want Lord Twilight to Patron us.
Lord Sarapis, I hope this meets with Your approval, for I havent had the opportunity to discuss this with you. May the best man win. For the sake of the Infernals, I lay my head on the block. Let the man who is more worthy than me, come and take it.
