Whether shrines are good or bad has little to do with anything.
Left alone they are harmless, but they can be used for agressive actions.
Is a sword evil because it is used for killing?
Is a shrine evil because it is used for killing?
Is a sword good, because it is used for shaving?
Is a shrine good because it is used to empower another skill, as are hearts?

Is a fortress evil because its there? Left alone its harmless, but attacked and engines of war can fire flaming pitch from its walls.

So, I ask you again, are shrines good or evil?
Or are they simply there?
Is it the people who use them who are good or evil?

If you dont like shrines, go out and destroy them, but dont whine if you are killed because of it.
