Indeed. That is truly an occasion to mark, for it does not happen often at all. I think I was properly challenged man to man one time concerning 'crimes I was commiting'.
It was a long time ago, and I felt the same as you. Perhaps Ryvern should spread his honourabilty towards his associates, for I fear you will not get the same treatment from any of them. They will justify cowardly battle tactics, and group slaughter with the 'upholding of law'. They will gather together discussing your death with the intense desire of murder playing with their souls. As long as one member of the church agrees with these types of defense, they will all feel it is ok to do so. I have even witnessed highly respected members of the church (not many of those) stoop to such acts.
My friend Raajin, I know your frustration in all of this. I know the deep seeded anguish that comes from being teamed. I know what it feels like to having to resort to invading a *peaceful city* to extract your revenge, and make right what was so violently torn from you. Above all, I know the feeling of being summoned within this *peaceful city* and being dissected while onlookers point and laugh, reveling in their bloody deed that will somehow bring peace and wisdom into the land. If opening a gateway to Light involves opening a spleen slowly with a sickening calculation, then I fear this gateway is an illusion set up to diminish the guilt of ending that which is so precious to us all... Life.
Rejoice Raajin, that you have met a Paladin who cherishes his honour, for it is non-existant today.

Penned by my hand on the 2nd of Daedalan, in the year 241 AF.
