A rather pleasant surprise

Well, I'm normally not the sort to go handing out kudos, much less to presume that anyone cares what I think about one Paladin or another... But I just cannae help myself in this case, my apologies.

Whilst in the process of honouring a few pathetically ordinary fisherman by providing them with a noble and useful death, a certain Paladin shimmered into view before me.

Rather than immediately convocating me to locked room in Shallam to fight me with a few friends and the local telepaths, this Paladin actually confronted me, man to man, and even attempted to politely verbally disuade me from my intended course of action. I was pleasantly surprised, to say the least.

While I'm sure we all know that in this case, the story did, in fact, end in bloodshed, even in those actions did the Paladin conduct himself with the dignity and honour befitting his profession and faith. And while his efforts may have failed to sway my beliefs or my intended course of action... I can't help but think that such, objectively speaking, is likely a much more effective way of winning support. Ah, but now I'm rambling...

In any condition, the encounter as a whole was rather refreshing and restored a bit of my faith in the mental competence of my enemies. Sir Ryvern, you are a worthy foe, and I'll be honoured to cross blades with you again when next we meet.
