Chaos has returned. There were many who helped me remember my name and wake me from my divine dream by sending me the Spawn to remind me who I am. I hope they rejoice in knowing that Chaos will once again colour the land with Her many aspects of Change, Freedom, Evolution and Creativity. Let it be known that those who helped will not be forgotten.
Of course, those who hindered my awakening will not be forgotten either. However, since I am a benevolent and forgiving Goddess, I will overlook those mortals who played a part in delaying my remembering. I was rather saddened to learn that at one point my fellow goddess, Gaia, played a hand in thwarting my awakening by destroying the Spawn.
Although I was prepared to forgive even Gaia in my beneficence, when I went to my dear brother Deucalian for advise, he counseled retribution. Knowing his penchant for justice and righteousness, I of course followed his counsel and killed something beloved of Gaia as she destroyed something beloved to me. Urged by sweet Deucalian, I reluctantly destroyed the Unicorn, though I saved its horn out so that mortals might remember such a sweet innocent creative. It is truly my hope that Deucalian's counsel will repair the rift between Gaia and myself.
Knowing the Unicorn Horn would best be in mortal hounds, I held a contest which I dubbed a "free for all chaos style" wherein all contestants were placed in a room without exits and the winner was the last to remain standing. Because I believe there is no growth without the chance of loss, dying would be a true death. Added to the winnings were my favour and 10,000 gold.
Countless joined the contest, which, much to my surprise, included paladins and priests as representatives for the Church. How I was delighted that the Church who had so opposed me in the past has evolved to embrace me! To think, at one time the Church would have nothing to do with Chaos but now they were prepared to spill blood to gain the favour of Chaos, a piece of bone and some gold!
The contest began and bodies began to pile in the room. Paladins and priests, soaked and slippery with blood, savagely slew each other and countless others in an effort to claim the prize. Even dear sweet Deucalian watched for a time, a smile upon his lips as he stood in the entrails and severed limbs. The winner of the contest was Skarash, a fine fighter if there ever was one!
Chaos has returned to the Land and the future looks colourful indeed.
