I know I haven't been named in this argument but i wish to see if i can clarify what i see.
The road from North of Thera to the gates of ashtan is not part of the city of ashtan in the way of owning it.. however it is under the control of ashtan. it is the only way for people in the city of ashtan to get to the rest of the world. so it can be considered under the control of ashtan in regards to borders and defense. how many people call the road from delos to shallam, shallam's road?? most everyone recognizes that. just like the dirt track from the highway near the bridge is considered hashan's road (i assume).
