Fellow Achaeans,

I feel it is time reform our calendar and, no pun intended, bring it up to date. After all who really cares about the fall of the Selucarian Empire?

I suggest we use the birth of yours truly, Rufus the Druid to mark the beginning of calendar. My birthday in the conventional calendar is the 19th of Chronos, 216 years after the fall of the Selucarian Empire. I suggest that the years before my birth are known as "Before Rufus" (or B.R. for short) thus the fall of the Selucrarian Empire occurred on the year -216 B.R. Dates after my birth will obviously be marked "After Rufus" (or A.R. for short) so the current year is 20 A.R.

The start of the year in the new calendar will be, of course, the 19th of Chronos. I would like to continue the tradition started by Cynne and celebrate the changing of the seasons but I would also mark the new calendar new year with much partying and celebration too. I think it would also be a fine tradition if everyone gave me gifts to celebrate the reformed calendar new year's day (and of course my birthday). Perhaps gold and/or alcohol would be deemed appropriate?
