Treaty

Written by: Mistral, of the Wild Blue Yonder
Date: Wednesday, December 8th, 1999
Addressed to: Everyone

For the treaty to be concluded and ratified in such a time frame,
it is an admirable work. However, like with the treaty before and
the agreements made during the armistice, there are still disputes
and controversies over the terms in the treaty. The main reason
is we are all looking at this treaty from our own viewpoints. We
tend to overlook what benefits and protection the treaty is giving
us. Instead, we pick on what freedom of action we are being
deprived of.

The fact is, we either end up with no treaty at all, or a treaty that
many are unwilling to stick to, or a treaty that is pleasing to the
majority.

During the war, the best of our warriors and fighters from both
sides were sent to the battlefields, while the others behind the
scenes worked together in an endeavour to reach common
goals. Some others may disagree with me, but for this war to
go on aimlessly without any resolution, it will just become
endless bloodshed on a massive scale, pulling in more and more
innocents, without achieving anything.

For the treaty to be most clear, definite and detailed for all to
follow, I suggest that each city-state or organization forms a
team of diplomats and enforcers, in regard to this treaty. A
number of meetings may be needed to discuss any detail yet
to be elaborated and clarified further.

Mistral, Archon for Ashtan

Penned by my hand on the 12th of Phaestian, in the year 235 AF.
