An unrequested apology

To the mortals of Achaea,

I should have recognized the risk of creating a situation in which countless individuals felt an urgent need to prove that they had reached the same conclusion entirely on their own. It was also genuinely inspiring to witness so many people discover strong convictions on the subject at precisely the same moment. Such unity is rare in our realm and should be celebrated.

I appreciate the determination of those who dedicated their time and effort to ensuring that my opinions did not go unanswered. There is something admirable about a cause capable of attracting so much support, particularly when that support arrives and requires extraordinary numerical superiority to resolve. It takes a rare kind of courage to stand against a lone opponent when accompanied by overwhelming numbers, divine assistance, and no meaningful risk of failure. Such displays of conviction should not go unnoticed.

In conclusion, this entire experience has been educational. I had always assumed that the best way to diminish an opinion was to ignore it. I now understand there are alternative methods, some of which involve discussing it endlessly, rallying around it publicly, and ensuring that far more people hear it than otherwise would have.

For that lesson, I am grateful.

I would also like to thank Dr. Laras for providing one of the few responses that resembled a conversation rather than a performance.

Respectfully,

Kalys
