Dear Mila,
we grew up together and lived and died alongside eachother for many decades. During these years, were often were more than citymates, were friends. I cherish these memories.
I am aware that the past and the present are not the same.
I am an old rogue, by choice. How actively you, dear Milabar, have continued to help shape this world over centuries has always impressed me.
And - eventhough you seem to be unsure of this, I very much understand the burdon of leaders.
This combination (our shared hardships of the past, our once friendship and me understanding the burdon of leaders) has actually been the very reason why, eventhough you were the very person in Cyrene leadership I have known the longest, and eventhough I felt many questions sparkling inside me during your tenure as Imperiate, before and after, I decided to never send you the many tells, letters, messages that I had in my heart.
This is one of the reasons why we have not spoken in ages.
Leaders are mortals who volunteer their time to help their communities. They have many things to attend to constantly, and I decided getting questions by a former comrade was not something you should be expected to shoulder on top of all.
I would not even have addressed you on these boards, but I am happy to reply to you addressing me, of course.
Leaders have to make decisions.
Political Victors can be proud of their archievements.
Cyrenese can be proud of their archievements.
I am very sure The Oceanus Gate will continue to grow at impressive speed.
Acknowledgements can be important part of this growth.
These may include:
-Many Cyrenese were enthusiastic of the changes.
-The Divine guidance by the Lord has been most energetic and fascinating.
-Next to the many enthusiastic Cyrenese, there were long term citizens who were not enthusiastic (and before someone feels the non-enthusiastic ones were the lazy ones, wrong).
-Some of them are not in Cyrene anymore, some are, but have gone quiet, some have not awoken anymore.
-Within the many enthusiastic Cyrenese there were some who might remind the avid fauna expert of cuckoos chicks relocating to a new nest, growing impressively fast and eventually pushing some others out.
-Cyrenese calling for Cyrene to remain a democracy faced problems, this included people who phrased their concerns thoughtfully and polite.
-People who were not filled with joy felt expected to remain silent or leave.
-For some people, moving to a new city comes naturally, whereas others grow the type of roots which makes relocating painful.
-Punishments had regular part in the Cyrenese political transformation. Those punishments were done sometimes based on mortal decisions, sometimes based on divine wisdom.
-Punishments included mortals being threatened through private and public communications, losing positions as well as assassinations by tritons.
There are many more aspects I indeed cannot be aware of, since I only lived in Shallam and Eleusis in my long life, and have since been existing as rogue for a long time. Harmonias post 22929 to Milabar is therefor one I read with high interest.
I am wishing everyone, no matter whether I personally might agree with you or not, only the very best. This world needs all of us to continue to remain the wonderful home it is. Thank You and you for Your and your energy.
