Very good

It is good to see we are beginning to correct mistakes. Let us move on to the next one:

As a matter of fact, I did not refuse to consider your request to reflect.
I took a considerable amount of time, and responded to you in detail, showing you not only my conviction, but my attempts to build bridges, as you say. There was no further attempt to convince me of anything, nor was there any further reply from you to continue the discussion, so your initial refusal to provide me with an answer stood.

I also have that particular letter on record. However, the fact of the matter is that this was all simple deflection. One cannot be responsible for the perception of others.

I have tried, at length, every method of talking to people at the time. From pleading to preaching. From softly diplomatic to forceful. When I was not deemed insulting, I was deemed long winded. When that became difficult to apply, I was called disrespectful for continuing, or any other kind of adjective designed to dismiss an opinion without consideration. I became the object of slander and belittlement, incessantly insulted while simultaneously being accused of the same. This was, and is, a popular tactic.

Similarly popular is projection. Like the way in which what I "allude" to becomes turned back onto me. Or the way in which Sir Milabar has the nerve to talk about the need for sacrifice, and then claim for his empire a compassion that simply does not exist, except in promise.

May I remind that honored gentleman, that while others lost everything, he was busy ascending to the top of Cyrenian hierarchy. Sacrifice of the victor, indeed.

Perhaps when we are done with this particular mistake, we can reach a point where it can be considered to offer me some sort of apology for the slander of being painted an oath breaker. At the very least.

I caution you: Do not test me. I will hold up a mirror and you will not enjoy what you see in it.

Which is where my course appears to be currently taking me.
