Deeds, Not Beards

Sir Aodfionn,

Blanket words such as these serve naught but to stoke the coals of fear, hoping to stir them into flame. Every race, from troll to tsol'aa, counts both honourable souls and wretches among them. To claim that all dwarves are serpents lurking in the shadows is itself a serpent's tongue...propaganda dressed as warning.

Cyrene's own founding stands as proof enough that dwarves are not all given to subterfuge. Cyr Ruminic and his folk led weary refugees to safety, and dwarves of those mountains gave aid when it was most needed. Their sacrifice and sorrow are built into our very legacy. Without them, our city would not stand. Perhaps this is the source of your aversion for dwarves, perhaps it is something else.

Judge each by deed, not by beard. Anything less is folly.

- Sir Kresslack Matrose

Penned by my hand on the 3rd of Aeguary, in the year 983 AF.
