A Costly Error.

I went to the four corners of this planet, the wilderness, the bed of the sea, every ruin, every island that I could think of. Every spot that made sense and quite a few that didn't.

You and I even searched together, questioning experts and trying to find any angle with which we could solve this.

You asked me very pointed questions about the source of this treasure I had acquired. In order to better arm you to help me hunt, I thus confided that I was given it, but I did not say who and I did not say where. I said I found it in Seleucar - technically, I suppose I did. I left all names and locations out of this and shared what I thought would be effective in the hunt.

The advice I gave is the advice I followed and I have worn myself to the bone, even after being cured, to help others achieve the same.

You pieced it together, of course. And then the penalty I take for trying to include you in my admittedly unenviable quest for this cure is to have the fears of Ser Aerek realized. A siege. That you were at. Which did not get you what you sought but burned an enormous amount of good will.

That is the reward for trusting you.

For trying to help you, and by connection the people under your Divine's banner, put an end to their misery. For -not- hoarding information, pertinent information that might save people.

To Ser Aerek and Lady Tahquil, and the people of Aster Malik, you have my deepest, and most ashamed apologies. The fault is mine, and I will try to find a way to make amends, without expectation of forgiveness.
