The Holy Isle of Lord Sartan

Sapients,

Upon further investigation and study of the nature and origins of the blood orange tree on Mhaldor Isle, Mhaldorians have been forbidden from eating any fruit it may eventually produce. You are also strongly discouraged from doing so, and the martial law temporarily imposed on Mhaldor Isle continues in force should my warning not be enough to dissuade you. At first opportunity, the tree will be destroyed.

It was initially planted over two years ago by Eoka. I posted in AHO about this tree months ago, warning that the cure the "Keeper of the Crown" has spoken of may not be the cure we are looking for. It is obvious now that the seed, the sapling, and its eventual fruit are steeped in Chaos, down to its roots. Its origin made it potentially dangerous, but manageable, until recent actions of Eoka have better revealed its nature and tainted the tree. She has forced my hand.

Mhaldor remains committed to investigation of a cure for the disease weakening us all. We loathe the physical weakness exhibited by all who bear the Rot, and wish a return to full Strength. But the path does not lie through this orange tree.

I quote my post to the Achaean Health Organization:

AHO NEWS 1:
"...
The tree may bear fruit capable of combating the ongoing malady. However, it must be clearly understood that it is not yet mature, has not produced fruit, and remains touched by the Chaos from which its seed was dredged. Any future fruit may carry unintended consequences or prove entirely ineffective.

Mhaldor will not hoard this fruit. When it comes, if it proves viable, it shall be distributed to the cities in accordance with our intent to see Sapience strengthened through Hardship of mortal making, not wiped clean by decay.
..."

It is clear now that the fruit is not viable for any ends we wish for this world; the End that Eoka dreams of is an abomination in His sight.

Investigate the lemons, limes and any other avenues that appear worthwhile, and we shall do the same. Meanwhile, the Ashtani who would pursue this collective crisis as an opportunity to poison us all shall receive their just rewards.
