Your actions, and ours

Savage Chieftain,

You speak of the "end of this conflict" as if you have the power to end it. Do the dogs of war have leashes I am unaware of? It seems unlikely that you are the one to hold them. Surely, you understand that your own personal cessation of hostilities is immaterial to us.

We fought the Aegeans when they worshipped Chaos. We fought those of them who hide in Cyrene. We fight them now, as purported servants of Nature. It is unlikely this conflict will end. The only changing factor seems to be which banner they hold in the air as they fight.

We mourn those who die bravely for the Court while most of its soldiers rest. But you will find that their deaths will bring you only our vengeance, not respite. It is difficult, after all, to fear an enemy one almost never sees outside of its own borders.

We do not expect Eleusis to cease its aggression. But aggression will never come without cost.

The shrines of Nature will continue to fall. And all of the mortals of the Prime will continue to see you for what you are: cowards who would not stand their ground for their grand "cause" unless victory was already certain.

In Progress and in Darkness,

Farrah Roualt
Regent of Hashan

Penned by my hand on the 18th of Chronos, in the year 859 AF.
