Facts And Hard Truths

Forgive the lack of my usual vitriol as I surmise all that is happening, and clutch my cup of kawhe to me in the hopes of mustering up the energy to address all of this.

So, in summary from all these public discussions the facts are, and remain that we are all terrible people who do terrible things to survive, and thrive in this world. Understood.

Is there anything new to the table here? I don't see it.

I believe the Dread Hand, Kaalish Proficy's post, long before this array of chatter began put forth Mhaldor's declarations, and views at the forefront on what the future holds.

But let us not pretend that His Isle is a product of perfect unity all the time. Correct me if I am wrong, but was there not an attempt, a desire, to see control wrenched from both Stheno Aristata as Tyrannus, and Commandant Reyson Aristata once upon a time? A maneuver that failed. And in the subsequent years that followed His Isle has put forth the sword through the blood and the grit to claim the Staff of Nicator.

Which shows me that Mhaldor's true Strength comes from a razor focus that extends beyond personal squabbles, and petty grudges that hinder their path moving forward.

Speaking of which, my home, Cyrene, has fallen back into this state. I had hopes that we could move beyond this lethal habit that poisons our very slow march toward a new frontier, but it ever crawls to a standstill.

Now. Imperiate Keorin is not Phaestian, and the City is comprised of all walks of life who have different faiths, if they have faiths at all. Most of us do not share the Phaestian mentality, nor do we wish to embrace it. What made most of us choose our home was the desire to not be religious fanatics, threatening neighbor and citizen alike to adhere to One Faith, One Divine.

Regarding this vehement stance on Chaos I must say I am surprised. Fifty years now since the Occupation I have stood within Senate meetings, at some points with my eyelids threatening to close, and yet not once in all that time have I ever heard the righteous indignation over the threat of Chaos vocalised to the point where action was taken.

When those of us fought so hard just to be able to raid the likes of Evil, Or Progress forever intertwined with Darkness, where was this call to arms over Chaos then? Where is it now? When it took some of us kicking and screaming just to be dragged onto a new plateau.

I have some dear friends that are Phaestian, but as for the rest of you Chosen I am confused. If there is a great need for you all to combat Chaos... then why is it not done? Why is it not proactive? Oh, it is one thing to grumble about it, and chastise about it, but what are the rest of you really doing to stop it? Hinder it? Hell, even pester it?

I find the likes of Targossas distasteful for many reasons, but when it comes to Chaos at least they put sword to action. Not just words.

While we're at it what are you doing about Nature? The Gods know we've heard nothing but mutterings, and chattering on Nature, but still I do not see your declarations made public.

Where are the stones we are told you possess when it comes to addressing any of the things you stand for?

No. No. All we get is posturing, lecturing, and outright -death threats- against those who are supposed to be your people. On top of some of you consorting with the very people who defiled -your- God's shrines.

What good has been all the Cyrenian blood spilled on behalf of defending the Lord Smith's shrines over the years, on collecting all the essence, taking all those lives, just to keep them raised and strong. What good is it when we are abandoned, cast aside, and chastised?

Fine. Be upset. Make your grand statements. Empty breaths.

While the rest of us try to pick up the pieces, and look after one another. Because that is all we truly have in the end. Each. Other.

Disappointed,
Jinos Inficio-Tiercel.
