Gilliam,

I care not where you are headed. I was specifically referring to the Cyrenians I frequently saw you conversing with and advising regarding tactics. Your disagreement regarding the alliance with the Tsol'teth has been clear, but note that you were never shunned or silenced for your views. The Court welcomes all who wish to find a home in a place not beset by willful ignorance and zealous rejection of differing viewpoints.

You had the opportunity to converse with the Tsol'teth as much as any of us, to learn the way they think and see the world. Just prior to your departure, you had the opportunity to join us in the Houses of Blood and Dark, and see it for yourself. But your mind was made up from the start.

Also, I shouldn't need to educate you on this, but Hashan is a democracy, with elected leaders. You could have run for office had you wanted to. Of course, that would mean doing work, and it's much easier to just sit back and complain about all the things you can't change. Or just quit, and abandon any chance of making a difference.

Mathonwy,

I spent as many words as were needed for Eleusis, and while one word would've sufficed, I chose to part with more, for the benefit of those who might be unaware of what offers have been given. While you may consider matters only in terms of rank and age, Gilliam acted as a stalwart soldier of Hashan for decades, and he has earned some measure of courtesy from me. Certainly more so than a backward village advocating for the end of civilisation. But I'm sure we could spend all day discussing who and why I speak to or ignore.
