Apologies

Dearest Sapience,
I now realize that I have erred, and I must confess unto you the purpose
of my last missives. What started as an attempt of simple deception
aimed at select individuals over a private matter has gone far and
beyond the scope of my intent. I see now that my words have passed
beyond reason, beyond logic, and ran firmly into the realm of deep
insanity.

For this, I apologize. I regret every word I wrote, the dried ink a scar
upon my flesh no less than that left by the kiss of a lash. The sorrow
over my fallacy knows no bounds, for I lied unto myself even as I penned
my missives, defying my own deeply held beliefs. My aim was to rant as a
mad man, to rave as any would expect of a prophet who spent too long
contemplating the secrets of their faith. While I was successful in the
conveyance of my lost sanity, my true aim was lost within the mire of my
vehement falsehoods, and all that I dared to envision lied before me
like ash upon a burnt forest.

To the Divine of Sapience, those beings that watch over us, that guide
us, and have ever done so to see us rise above our own petty squabbling,
I offer You my repentance. I prostrate myself before You as an offering
before the altar, ready to offer unto You my dignity, stripped already
in my regret. You have my respect as befitting Divinity, and I have paid
the heavy price for my disrespect. Never shall such insolence spill from
my lips again. My life is offered unto you as I crumble, bereft of
pride, into a creature of humility.

My humblest apologies,
Driden
