Greetings, Sapience.

I write to you all to relay a story I heard a while ago. It is a story
that holds a lot of importance to me and I wish to share with all of
you.

There was a young fisherman who had spent all his hard earned gold
sovereigns on a small fishing shack on the coast of Meropis. Now,
unbeknownst to him, the seas were rough around these parts. He had
managed to build a wall from the profits of his fishing around his house
to prevent the powerful waves from crashing into his beloved home. He
was safe, he was happy.

However, the wall was beginning to crack. The relentless Sea would
continue to hammer at the stone, causing cracks which threatened his
livelihood. He would of course repair the wall to the best of his
ability, filling the cracks with whatever gold he could afford. Until
one fateful day, where he was awoken by a terrible crash. No matter how
hard he had worked, the wall was obliterated by the fury of the Sea. He
was eventually washed away by the tide, along with his home and his
life...

The moral of the story is, no matter how long you fill those cracks,
eventually the wall will crumble, leaving darkness in it's wake.
