Bastion Steel Chef
------------------
Salutations culinary professionals throughout Sapience. I come to you
today with a grand festival, Ashtan's Bastion Steel Chef. Who among you
foodie elite will craft the most delicious delight? Who will find their
recipe cooked by the exalted chefs of the Bastion, and return to their
home and city with the title of Steel Chef?! It could be any of you.
Beginning Aeguary 590 AF, the Steel Chef Festival will begin. Each month
will focus on a specific type of foodstuff. All are welcome to
participate, enemies included, though of course we cannot let enemies
within the city proper.
Chefs will need to send their submissions in via mail, along with a 2000
gold sovereign fee per submission. They will also be allowed to sell
their foodstuffs from the "House of Wares" in Ashtan for visitors and
citizens alike to enjoy. Profits from these sales will go strictly to
the city.
Each Archon will be provided a submission and will cast their vote for
their favorite foodstuff of the themed month. Winners will take the pot
of the submission fees and the chance to have their recipe sold by the
denizen chefs of Ashtan! Each individual foodstuff counts as a
submission, (for example, if you submit blueberry crepes and send 10 of
those crepes along, thats one submission, but blueberry crepes and then
strawberry crepes, thats two), and you can have unlimited submissions
for any given month.
Selling your foodstuff in the House of Wares is optional, but in the
event an Archon is not available to cast a vote, it will fall to a
Minister to break any ties, and thus it would behoove you to have extras
available.
As long as the submissions are received in the month before that
category, they are accepted, once that category's month begins, no more
submissions for that theme will be accepted.
Themes
------
Aeguary - Sweetstuffs, pastries, cakes, cupcakes, and other sugary
manifestations.
Miraman - Appetizers, fingerfood, sandwiches.
Scarlatan - Exotics! Unexpected delicacies.
Ero - Entrees, full means, chicken steak and more!
Valnuary - Liquid dining, soups, chowders, stews, chili!
Lupar - Recipes only. Ingredients will be announced on this date, a
single ingredient to be chosen by each Archon to be combined into one
meal, to then be judged, by the Archons.
There will be other prizes and awards per month, to be revealed on each
month.
If a single chef wins multiple months, they will be named Bastion Steel
Chef!
City enemies will not be eligible for any of the extra prize awards
unless the submission was so excellent that intervention was necessary.
Those who hold not the license to be a chef, may submit through a chef
as their proxy, but please be thorough with your labeling submissions.
Any details not covered here, will be covered in a letter to all
participants. If you -know- that you will be participating prior to
submitting anything, do not hesitate to let myself or the Ashtan
Minister of Culture, Laila, know.
Get your knives and bundt pans ready!
-Askiva Trismegistus Montenegro, Cultural Aide of Ashtan
Penned by my hand on the 24th of Aeguary, in the year 589 AF.
