The greater Good

Caliph,

I do believe you opened with the most important point to be made in this
ongoing debate. Shallam did what Shallam did for the greater Good. It
was not for the greater Nature, nor for the Balancing of any Great Work.
It was, quite simply, for the greater Good.

Ashtan hardly seeks to Oppress nor does it seek Vengeance in its ongoing
campaign. As stated numerous times, all Eleusis must do is not support
your quest for Shallam's unilateral conquest in the name of Good,
Righteousness, and the Holy Church. I can understand that this might be
of great concern to you, but really these are consequences you should
have considered before catalyzing the cascade that has led us all to
this very moment.

Paint your actions as you will, but rest assured none are deceived by
the truth behind the smokescreen. Shallam values only Shallam. Her
allies are merely pawns in her greater agenda. You can say many things
about Ashtan - its might, the pride of its citizens, the strength of its
conviction. But there is one undeniable reality that has stepped to the
forefront throughout this conflict. Ashtan does not attack its own
allies and then attempts to excuse it with trickery. Ashtan does not
need to make excuses.

We at least have the backbone to stand behind our actions. This is
simply another example of you using the better judgment of your
"friends" against them.
