I am but a humble merchant, who watches much and speaks little. But on
this subject, I cannot hold my tongue.

The City of Ashtan claims to be the city of Freedom. An entire paragraph
is devoted to the subject in the public help scroll for the City. My
understanding of that paragraph is that Ashtan champions the cause of
"freedom of choice".

Yet the City's actions speak otherwise.

You, the City of Ashtan, seek to -deny- the citizens of Eleusis the very
thing you champion..freedom of choice. You seek to deny them the freedom
to defend who they choose when they choose to. This situation is no
different from the war you started with Cyrene. You sought to deny
Cyrenians the same freedom. And the best you did there, according to my
understanding of the peace treaty published on this board, was to
slander Shallam.

Ashtan, you can't have it both ways. You can't claim to promote
"freedom" for some and at the same time deny "freedom" to others.

Rean, you called for those who disagreed with Ashtan's stance to "strike
at us". I would remind you that there are many forms of combat.
Physical, hand to hand combat which you are quite good at. Diplomacy is
another form of combat. As is verbal. So everyone who has posted here
regarding ANY conflict, past, present, and future..has engaged in
combat.
