Priorities of the Forgetful

Tow and the other forgetful ones,

I remember sitting through hundreds and hundreds of interviews with
novices in the Druids and many with the Sentinels. Through the various
inter-house organizations. Every interview for the different houses and
organizations had something similar that was asked of each person
wishing to join the forestal ranks. Without properly answering this
question, the person would be rejected.

Priorities.

Given a list of priorities including Nature, House, City, Family,
Friends, Power, Fame, and Wealth, the younglings would have to put them
in order of loyalty and importance. For the remainder of their lives
they would be reminded of their priorities. If ever they found
themselves in trouble with their house or village is was because they
had their priorities mixed up, putting their own fame or friends above
their house or city. Their own desires above those higher on their
priority list.

During these same interviews the topic of Neutrality would be discussed
also. It was pointed out that remaining neutral was of upmost importance
because it was only in neutrality that one could protect Nature, the
house, and the village to the best of one's ability. In times when
siding with Evil threatened the safety of Nature, the House, and
Eleusis, Neutrality offered you the ability to side with Good. In times
when siding with Good threatened the safety of Nature, the House, and
Eleusis, Neutrality offered you the ability to not side with Good and
should Evil be the one offering assistance and resisting Good, offered
you the ability to side with Evil.

Ramble on all you want about your citizens having freedom to do whatever
the hell they want, you and I both know that is very far from the truth.

During this time, allowing your members to side with the Church
threatens the safety of Eleusis, your Houses, and Nature. In that order.

Right now, your priorities are off. You said:

"And indeed you said it right, only a few Eleusian warriors assist
Shallam or the Church on their own behalf, to assist their personal
friends or family, for their own personal reasons."

Eleusian and Sentinel law forbid their members from putting their own
personal beliefs and priorities over that of the city and house. The
belief and desires of these few members who want to help their personal
friends is bringing death and destruction to their House, City, and
Nature.

You cry about Ashtan being the city of freedom and how Eleusis is just
giving its members more freedom.

Eleusis is not the City of Freedom.

Eleusis is the forestal city devoted to the protection of Nature.

To address your question:

"So what you ask Eleusis is to forbid its villagers to fight for their
personal beliefs, friends and family if the attack happens outside
Eleusis?"

Yes. To be more specific, and I can't believe I have to write this a
second time, we are asking Eleusis to forbid its villagers to fight for
their personal friends and agendas in Shallam and the Church from
Ashtan, if the attack happens outside Eleusis. We are asking Eleusis to
require its citizens to follow the list of priorities that Eleusis and
all her sister forestal organizations demand their members to swear to
and follow.

The safety of Nature first, House and Village second, family, friends,
and personal agendas third.

Allow your members to continue to place their personal desires above the
safety of Nature, their city, and their house, and we will bring this
painfully to your attention. Ensure order and loyalty among your people,
Eleusis. Demand them to place their city and Nature above their
secondary desires and goals, above their friends. This is what you swore
to uphold, is it not?

It amazes me how many of your citizens have asked me if all Ashtan is
asking is that you forbid the handful of Eleusian warriors from
assisting the Church. What kind of circus are you running over there
where your citizens are left out of the loop to the demands of war,
however simple they may be.

Tow,

As long as I carry the Mark of the Jaguar, I'll keep the title. Your
weak warriors are unworthy of the title and the Jaguar Black is no
longer in the Sentinel's possession. A new order of true warriors has
been birthed from Mehrien's ceremony. If you want this title back, come
strip it from me. I'll show you who is truly deserving, child.
