Dearest Speaker,

Zealotry always leads to casualty. You have put your citizens into a
horrible position, one which will cost them their lives.

Citizens of Eleusis! I propose a simple, two-step solution to preventing
your villages utter destruction.

Step One - Accept your government is corrupt and incompetent.

It claims that Ashtan has unrightfully turned its back on a treaty it
signed. It claims we have no right to demand change. However, the
history of the last thirty years alone proves these claims false.

Ashtan and Eleusis were on begrudging terms, at worst, until an attack
orchestrated by the combined forces of Eleusis and Shallam on Mhaldor
occurred, downing it's icons. Immediately thereafter they threatened
Ashtan with the same unless a peace treaty was signed. Ashtan did not
accept, however. I refer you to public post 18439 where the previous
Overseer TURNED DOWN your offer for a treaty, not accepting it.

I took over the office of Overseer, and then our icons fell and once
more pressed upon us was a non-aggression treaty. We never accepted. A
temporary cease-fire was reached while we regrouped, however we made no
pretenses that better terms would have to be sought in order for it to
last. Your council failed to head this warning.

Step Two - Propose a Solution

Accept Ashtan's offer that you will be free to grow and prosper once
more, free of the oppressive thumb of Shallam, free of your binding
treaties that have and continue to lead to the death of so many of your
citizens, guards, and so much more if you but accept our simple,
reasonable offer.

Stop helping Shallam.

Accept the reality that this is a burden Eleusis now carries because of
its leadership's arrogance and actions. Demand accountability or save
yourselves. The path which you are now on will lead to death, despair
and utter destruction.

You still have a chance to prosper, citizens of Eleusis.
