Before I start, I might as well state a little disclaimer; Everything in
the post from this moment on reflects the opinion of Jonesey, not the
opinions of the Warlocks of the Rising Phoenix, Ashtan, Bastion of the
North, or Dictator Darknight, patent pending.
Today I'm going to speak to you all on the topic of perspective.
Perspective is defined, most appropriately in this case, as the
relationship of aspects of a subject to each other and to a whole. It
was only a few years ago that Shaleusis raided Ashtan and destroyed all
the guards we had. Our guards were laid out differently, in fact they
were all stacked at the gates. Yet your resilient forces managed to
conquer our city. At the time you even mocked our defeat by selling real
estate in Ashtan over the market channel.
Now that was the perspective you applauded your heroes, glorified your
victory in beating the big bad Ashtan from the Northside. Let me share
mine....
It was a pretty empty in Ashtan that day, in fact I can remember we had
less then 10 citizens at the time. We were just minding our business,
novices were working on their reqs, asking questions, people were
scattered around Sapience questing, bashing, learning, possibly even
fornicating. Regardless, due to that, there were approximately 2-3
people left to physically be in Ashtan, myself included. As soon as we
noticed we were under attack, OUR brave handful of non combatant
citizens rallied together to try to put together the best defense we
could. However, we were outnumbered and simply overpowered. There was no
hope, all we were doing was dying and still losing ground so we have no
choice but to evacuate Ashtan and hear over the city channel as our city
guards fell one by one, and this happened until there wasn't a single
guard left.
I know some of you will claim that this group did not reflect Eleusis,
but you guys did not join us in defense against this group, you kept
them warm and snuggly until they were ready to raid again. You did not
seem to mind to harbor these group of villains in your village.
Now, something similar has happened to you and you come running to the
news boards to complain? Take a note from big bad Ashtan, actions speak
louder then words. Do something about it. Shortly after that we stopped
the pesky gnat from bothering us. We had many successful raids on our
opponents cities and destroyed their icons as well.
You know where to find us, we'll be in the north doing as we please.

PS Akt, I am sorry for your loss. Best of luck to you.
