Heraldry Charge of a ship

Captains of Sapience, once again I address you.

Firstly, an update: Due to the generous donations of many people, we are
just under half way there! At 360,000 gold, we are just under the
halfway point of 375,000 gold for the charge of a ship.

Secondly: I've received a number of messages inquiring about more
information relating to the charge, and how it could possibly benefit
all of Sapience when I am paying for it.

While I am not a herald, allow me to share my understanding of charges.

The most common question I get is "What is a charge?". A charge is
something that goes on the field of a Coat of Arms. Examples are
animals, weapons, et cetera. In the Coat of Arms of the city of Ashtan,
the charge is a Zarathustran eagle.

Less common, yet still a valid question: How will my paying for a charge
benefit all of Sapience? Quite simply, when a charge is bought, it is
not a private thing. It is public, and any who want to use it in the
creation of their own Coat of Arms may do so.

Any further questions will b answered with all due haste, just ask me in
a message. For those of you who have donated already, you should all
have received your non-decay pole. Plenty more where those came from! In
terms of bait: If you donated, feel free to contact me, and we'll get
you set up bait-wise.

Looking forward to a new Charge,
Captain Lynara Le'Dominae, Oceanic Cartographer

Penned by my hand on the 8th of Phaestian, in the year 552 AF.
