Loyalty

Greetings, Squire Rakon

As a relatively young Achaean, I found it truly refreshing to see an
experienced Maldaathi taking time to talk with such eloquence about
Loyalty, particularly 'LOYALTY to their own'. Perhaps you would care
Squire to elaborate on this subject to help educate those younger
Achaeans (myself included) still struggling with this very concept.

Since Maldaathi Knights are by their own definition an epitome of Honour
and Loyalty, learning from the best would be a very valuable lesson, and
I'm sure, much appreciated by many.

So, what exactly does Loyalty and 'Loyalty to Your own' mean to a Proud
Maldaathi, Squire?

How would Loyalty manifest itself in everyday life of a Maldaathi
Knight?

What does it mean to remain 'loyal to your own' when dealing with petty
struggles and daily hardships, various personal disappointments and
perhaps occasional personal dislike of some of the younger, still
uncivilized, often irritating and immature 'brethren'? Do you remain
loyal to them, guide them so they may learn and grow and when do you
decide to just cast them out as unworthy of your loyalty and any further
attention? Or perhaps by 'your own' you only mean your blood family? Or
only the Divinity and your superiors and not the rank and file of the
House and those should not expect the House loyalty at all?

You said: "From Eleusis corruption, to Shallams bickering, to Cyrene
boredom, and finally to the prowess of Mhaldor."

Now, should the true 'Loyalty to your own' not include strength to
overcome problems like corruption which happens in various degrees in
most organizations, active and ran by mortals? Or strength to raise
above bickering which is found in almost every place that has as few as
two breathing bodies? And especially the very basic ability to overcome
boredom?

Are you saying that you are to remain loyal only to those able to
entertain you and those who support you unconditionally or impress you
with their prowess? And all others are to become castoffs unworthy,
undeserving of the loyalty of a Maldaathi Knight?

I have many more questions on Loyalty but I'll stop here for now. As you
can see I'm not yet well versed in my thoughts and understanding of the
topic. I hope that you'll find time and patience to share your wisdom
and experience and help to educate many of us, confused and perhaps
boring but eager to learn, youth of Sapience.

Thank you in advance, Squire
