A contest of intellect

Greetings, Achaeans. I bring you tidings from the Samadhi, the Order of
Knowledge in service to Lorielan, the Enlightened One.

To promote scholarship and to encourage intellectual growth, the Samadhi
are holding a contest for works of non-fiction. The topic may be of your
choosing, but it must be an original work of your own or as part of a
team effort. It should stand on its own merit and be useful to a general
population seeking to learn more about a particular area of interest. It
may be scientific, historical, philosophical or even theological. It
cannot be a work of art or fiction such as would be eligible for the
bardic or artisanal competitions.

Each entry will be evaluated on the quality of writing, the accuracy of
the research, the applicability of the material, and the overall
contribution to the body of mortal knowledge. Multiple entries are
allowed.

The contest is open to all Achaeans save those who are enemied to my
Lady. Your original and dated work (older, less known works of
scholarship are welcome) journals should be sent to me no later than 25
Lupar, 542 AF. The Samadhi will read and review the entries and select
the best for Lady Lorielans review. Lady Lorielan will honour those She
finds worthy with Her truefavour and bestow upon the author of the top
piece a unique token signifying his or her entrance into the Fellowship
of Mimir. All entries will be entered into the Great Library in
Siorraidh, the Temple of Lorielan. They will not be returned. The
Samadhi will reimburse the cost of journals up to 5000 gold sovereigns.

To the Samadhi, the pursuit of knowledge is a joy as great as the labour
is long. Honing the skills of the mind, however, is not limited to those
who follow Her path. The Fellowship of Mimir seeks to identify and
recognize those scholars worthy of Her praise.

Mistress Lys Darkstar, Samadhi Sayyadina

Penned by my hand on the 1st of Chronos, in the year 541 AF.
