My penance

Hail Lorielan, Lady of Enlightenment,

I write today in repentance, and in search of resolution.

I had for a time chosen to live a life of selfishness - of doing what I
want. I have since realised and come to accept that this was
unacceptable, and not befitting of myself or of my past. In so doing, I
was made an enemy of the Light; and while I didn't regret it at the
time, given the circumstances of my departure from Shallam, I find that
mantle increasingly chafing.

Thus, I offer to You my apologies for the abuse of one of Your Kx'Krah
children, Sh'Fah, and for my disrespect in refusing to comply when one
of Your followers requested on Your behalf that I cease.

At the time, I summoned Sh'Fah for a few reasons, most of them
unimportant; but it was, in the end, nothing more than childish lashing
out against perceived injustices. I like to think that, in the 20 years
since, I have changed: I am no longer the man I was.

I hope that, with this public acceptance that I was wrong, You will see
that I have changed as well.

Humbly,

Silas Maynard

Penned by my hand on the 18th of Mayan, in the year 529 AF.
