Hashani Expense Report

Laytron, in response to your post: You should feel lucky that the Qashar
see Hashan as worthy of negotiation in the first place. You say that you
do not negotiate with "lesser clans" while your own organization
fulfills only the most basic of requirements necessary to be considered
a "city".

Your stance of "neutrality" is a poorly crafted illusion, a clumsy
misdirection utilized by ignorant politicians looking to justify
constantly shifting alliances. Your smoke and mirrors fool nobody and
you need look no further than last month during your occupation for
evidence. As the Qashar stood within your city walls and you stood
helplessly before your gates you allowed a city enemy to lead your
defense party.

A city enemy, Hashan, leading your defense in the presence of multiple
Regents.

How pitiful a realization it must be that your carefully crafted
alliances must be disregarded, that you must once again misdirect the
audience of Sapience while furtively rummaging through your back pockets
in search of some magic answer. How sad that you must deconstruct,
again, your stance of neutrality and reassemble it in such a way that it
is justifiable for your city to be lead in defense by a city enemy.

However, I tire of speaking a language you are unable to comprehend, so
allow me to communicate to you in a tongue that Hashan is surely capable
of understanding: money.

The Qashar have slain 339 of your citizens in 4 months.

We have smudged no less than 30 totems.

We have killed 12 of your city guards, and your guardian.

Assuming that none of your defenders use irid moss, defensive tattoos or
herbs of any kind and conservatively figuring half of a health vial and
one-third of a mana vial per citizen slain and that one-third of your
citizens had, and reinked starburst tattoos in addition to the inks
needed to repair totems the total expense incurred by Hashan over the
last 4 months is estimated at 343,949 gold.

343,949 gold in 4 months, Hashan. That's more than one million gold per
year ignoring the supplies made necessary by the need to hunt to recoup
what your citizens lose during these raids. And this is a conservative
estimate.

One million gold per year, Hashan.

How many years -- how much profit -- are you willing to sacrifice to
maintain your fading illusion?

Penned by my hand on the 5th of Ero, in the year 526 AF.
