Dearest Druids
For a Century I have been an outcast from your organization, shunned and
enemied. Persecuted for crimes, the specifics of which I no longer can
recall. Many of you do not remember them, for you had not been rebirthed
when they occurred. Other still have forgotten them entirely. Time does
not heal all wounds, for if so I would not by writing this now. My
indiscretions of the past have come around firmly to bite me in the
rump.
I have been asked why I should be forgiven for my trespasses, and I can
honestly say that I have no valid reason. While it stands true that I
have to gain from my change of status within your house, that is not my
reasons for wanting to do this. For too many years I have felt the
stains on my heart of past deeds. I have conditioned myself not to
outwardly show emotions, instead repress them, as fear they may be taken
for a weakness. I wish to clear my conscience and drop my burden. The
years have not been kind and my load has been great. One day I shall
make the final walk with Lady Maya, and when it comes time, I do not
want to have anything holding me back.
Some of you may ask yourself what your organization would have to gain
from revoking my enemy status. The answer would depend on the person
asking. In the past I have been many things to many people in your
house, A friend, an ally, a brother, protg, a lover, a mentor, and a
confidant. But one of the repercussions from my actions was to be
stripped of all of these. Ask those who remember before my fall and they
will tell you what kind of Satyr I was. And for that matter still am. I
stand ready to resume these roles, as well if not better as before.
Look at the stars. Any with a love of the constellations knows, the
serpent has been replaced by the budding rose. The evil times have
passed and now comes the time for celebration. The rose is the final
step in the long dance of the cosmos. It bring about the joy of
Logosmas, and the gift giving that comes with. I only wish for one thing
this year, Forgiveness. Please, I ask of you, make this Old Goat's
Logosmas a merry one.
Penned by my hand on the 18th of Aeguary, in the year 526 AF.
