Totalitarianism under the guide of Freedom

We, the citizens of Ashtan, dedicate ourselves to the ideals of freedom.
We declare our liberty to live as we choose, with the foreknowledge that
choice begets consequence. We recognize each person's unique vision, and
affirm the value thereof. We embrace the paradox of freedom; unity
through individuality, strength through diversity. We acknowledge our
debt to the past, turn a resolute gaze to the future, and seize our
destiny. - entirity of the Ashtani Creed
I had a hard time locating the Ashtani Creed, it used to be located on
the Pillars but apparently it has been moved, so I will post it here for
clarification. Please note the third sentence 'We recognize each
person's unique vision, and affirm the value thereof.' and 'unity
through individuality'.
As a side note: For those who did not understand the point of the last
post: For daring to question authority of the Overseer of Ashtan, in the
only venue that was available to me as my ability to both speak on the
City channel and post of the City new boards (which was my first choice
on location) had been removed from me for an undisclosed (to me, you or
anyone) length of time, I was removed from the City.
In the interest of full disclosure, I will note that I have broken the
Laws of Ashtan gratuitously once, trespassing on the Shadowsnake
guildhall to talk to a friend, a fact that got me enemied to the
Shadowsnakes but not to the City, infact not even unCitizened, which I
put down as due to my then mother-in-law being GM. Other than that, and
perhaps my habit of prisming to Citizens instead of walking, my only
'years of unpunished and innumerable violations' come from
insensitive/indecent comments to Citizens.
Now, I know full well that such comments would be outlawed in Mhaldor,
in fact I was a Citizen there at one point and I believe I was forcibly
removed for that reason, but that may not be correct, but I was under
the impression that Ashtan was different. If I had known that a simple
comment on the merits of allowing an uptight citizen to be killed would
result in my right to speak on City removed, perhaps I would not of said
it. More likely though is I would of used my knowledge of the
consequence to be far more gratuitous and thusly deserving of the
punishment.
Know that it was your choice to bring this public, to allow the whole of
Sapience to see your destruction of a once proud City only months after
said City won a world contest. A (reasonable) length of time set on the
muting would of allowed this to be kept within the City. The desecration
of the City by you and your totalitarian regime is only allowed by a
change forced on the City by Divine Will. If the citizens were allowed
to elect all Archons, as they were in the past, your kind would be put
into the gutters where you rightly belong.
Yours in Disgust,
Accipiter
PS: The closest I could find in the laws of Ashtan to support the
deCitization is - "Undermining or harming the sovereigny or integrity of
the City shall be more than slight or trivial, and include the breach of
confidential information obtained by virtue of position within the City,
the conspiracy to undermine the position or interests of Ashtan in
favour of an individual or another organisation, or the aiding or
abetting of City enemies in their actions against Ashtan or Citizens of
Ashtan." Though the connection seems tenuous. Perhaps you could show the
rest of us your reasoning regarding this obviously professional
execution of your powers.
