Hail, Sapience,
To the villages and towns contained therein: let it be known at the
outset that I speak not on behalf of the Holy Church of Achaea, nor for
the City of Shallam, as both are led by wise and capable rulers and need
no one else to speak in their stead. Instead, I speak on behalf of the
Qashar, seeking to address the more subtle slanders and misdirection
proposed by Danith Evensong recently.
You may be interested in knowing, for instance, that the Hunter did not
"target" Jaru for being in alliance with the Church - you'll note that
Delosians were every bit as "targeted" as Jaruvians were, and Delos has
no special relationship with the Holy Church. The extent of the Church's
interaction appears to be that it was Church members who finally
thwarted the Hunter's dreadful stalkings, and Church members who
patrolled other villages to ensure that the Hunter truly was gone.
Instead, the Hunter's appearance heralded an attempt by Lord Babel to
bring back the Chaos taint, that Creation may move closer to its
Oblivion. Again, the Church stood against Oblivion, and, again, the
Church stood victorious. Though it cost the Church - and, specifically,
the Empyreal Assembly - much, it is probably safe to say that all
parties involved would have given as much or more again.
The reason for this sacrifice in the name of Creation should be obvious,
but indeed, it is often only obvious to the initiated, as it were.
Though some wish to evaluate the situation before committing to a side -
an attractive stance in its seeming prudence - I do feel extremely
confident in asserting that as the Hunter slaughtered or abducted those
villagers needed to further its twisted, Chaotic agenda, so too will the
forces of Chaos at large relentlessly pursue the realization of
Oblivion, stopping at nothing to serve their Master. The enemies of
Creation will not respect your peaceful, prudent aspirations - Jaru is
just one tragic example.
To those of you who have, nonetheless, felt the cold knot of fear
flutter in your breast at the insinuations of vile obscenities seeking
to claim you, should you stand with the Holy Church: the Army of the
Qashar has and will continue to defend any town, village, or
organization which allies itself to the Holy Church. Retributive action
against those who choose to hunt members of any town, village, or
organization allied to the Holy Church will be swift and merciless. As
Creation is a thing to be defended at all costs, so too are those
seeking to promote its agenda.
Last, and most certainly least, an address to those of you who would
prey upon the innocent: it is unseemly that you should fall to the Army
of the Qashar without fair warning. To that end - consider this your
advance notice.
