The Pirates of Meropis

Avast Micaelis. Your hornswaggle is just that. Propaganda in an attempt
to smear the good names of my brethren Pirates. Your mouth must be full
of sea foam because it sounded like you said you easily surpassed me in
every other race I've been in. We both know that to be outright bilge.
You have lost to more then once to my sails lad at least my head has not
become so inflated I must make false claims.

You state 'Your' navy is what my pirates should hope to be? Why would I
want my pirates to be lazy land lubbers splicing the mainbrace? This
grand navy you speak of, where is it exactly? I've circled the lands
more times then I can count. I've fired upon, sunk, pillaged, and
marooned near every sail and mast to cross my horizon. Nay even once
have I gazed upon a flag baring any semblance of organized naval
sailing.

As for these 'Ashtani' ships limping back to to harbor broken, sails
still smoldering. There are many on the sea who would argue the Pirates
of Meropis have protected them in their times of true need. Where then
were these naval ships? Does your navy only set sail from harbor for
combat? Can't seem to put down the rum even to protect the very
fishermen or explorers you imply are being mistreated?

Bring fourth your trained hearties. We keep our cutlass sharpened and
our ballistas loaded. You'll find no land lubbing buccaneers here. No
quarter shall be offered none shall be requested. Prepare to meet the
murky locker should your sails grace my spyglass.

Perhaps after we finish salvaging whats left of your row boats we will
offer you and your fellow greenhorns a contract of safe passage...
