Overseer,
I congratulate you on the CTF victory. However, there are numerous
inaccuracies in your post so blatant, that I advise you to rethink the
idea of posting before checking your facts. Please indulge me to bring
forth the following slightly lengthy corrections:
Firstly, and most obvious of all (a fact so simple which I'm shocked to
see you misunderstand), Shallam and Eleusis offered their generous
assistance to Cyrene during the CTF, and Cyrene accepted them with
gratitude. This is not unlike Ashtan which jumped to accept help from
Mhaldor and Hashan. On a more ironic twist, correct me if I am wrong in
believing that Mhaldor and Ashtan shared a rocky history not too long
ago. As a past Ashtani, I remember defending the city against the
Mhaldorian and occasionally Hashani raiders.
If Ashtan would so gladly accept help from those who have wronged them
gravely, why should Cyrene forego generosity from friendlier cities?
Perhaps you should be disappointed in, and raid Ashtan more often for
allying herself with former (and in some cases current or frequent)
enemies, if you pursued your own previously stated logic so fervently?
Furthermore, the recent raids, or the Wrath of Ashtan as you would call
them, are anything but proof of your cowardice. Indeed it is a fact well
known that Ashtan is a wealthy city and many of its citizens well
stocked on artefacts. It also has some superb fighters such as Poergh.
Yet with all your might, combined with your renewed "wrath", you choose
to "raid" Cyrene during particular times in the month with the fewest
Cyrenian defenders present. With all of Ashtan's superior numbers and
power, and for all your threats, you choose only to sneak in at the
oddest hour, and slay helpless youngsters, scholars and denizens. Did
you honestly hope to impress us with these epically failed display of
Ashtani badass manliness?
I commend Poergh and the few capable for their skills, yet many of the
others who tag along are but pathetic vultures who lack the both the
ability and the courage to fight alone, yet hope to gain a leftover
share. For all this, I pity your wrath and your attempts to claim excuse
for these so-called raids.
Lastly, Cyrene was founded in hopes of distancing her citizens from the
conflicts between Ashtan and Shallam. We enjoyed the peace of seclusion,
but are not without pride and honour. Should the need arise, such as
when Ashtan brings its conflict, we do respond in kind. Your past
misconducts towards the city alone is enough to turn many against you,
and some would naturally choose to assist Shallam in the struggles. Your
actions brought Cyrenians into the conflict, and not the other way
around. You brought this conflict onto yourselves, so please stop
whining when our cities just don't like you very much.
Lots of love,
Mor
