Sapience,
I have borne witness to an event most noteworthy. Never did I believe
that I would see again the people of Shallam and Ashtan fighting
together for a singular goal, for surely no purpose could unite such
bitter enemies, but this is the surprising sight I earlier this month
beheld as the forces of Mhaldor and its allies lay waste to the Stag
Crown. Unperturbed by the recent conflicts betwixt their two cities -
or, indeed, by those between Ashtan and Eleusis - a number of citizens
of Shallam, following the shining example Sir Silas has set, lay aside
their differences, their enmity, and yes, their very ideology in order
to defend the Sentinels' Icon.
By this resolve I am well and truly impressed. For your undeniable
diplomatic prowess, Sultan, for the fact that ye have so well schooled
your disciples to forsake their beliefs when faced with certain defeat,
I commend you. I write this without expectation of thanks, without
expectation of any answer at all, for ye have well proven how selective
is your comprehension, but only to draw attention to what is no doubt
another event which marks the Light's impending victory.
To Sir Rangor and the Sentinels, I offer my deepest condolences. Perhaps
it is best if your so-called warriors resumed their hibernation, lest
they should stumble further and bring upon themselves greater harm; it
seems that I have too early roused them from their sleep. Several
decades more of rest might do to replenish their energies and sharpen
their minds.
