A fatal encounter with the war-like Druids.

Hail,

I bring unto you all a simple and pertinent warning.

Early one morning, I awoke in my cave, thinking that it would be a
wonderful and bright day. I rose up and set foot outdoors, unaware that
it would end in utter dismay. I spent my morning as I usually do,
strolling through the wilderness, wandering and admiring the sights, on
this crisp autumn day.

As I passed through the Ithmias, I found a nice view, I sat atop a hill,
and looked out through the trees. I laid there for hours, until early
afternoon, but when I got up to leave, a young woman approached me. She
was a fair Druidess lady, and a favour is what she asked of me. Urgent
as she cried for help, she spoke of thieves and thugs pillaging through
her village, and begged for me to assist.

Quickly, I set off alongside her, and we rushed back to her home, deep
in the realms of the forests. We approached a clearing in the woods, and
she said, "This is it.", but I looked around and something was amiss.
There were no bands of thieves in sight, only a makeshift wooden
structure in the trees. The woman noted that the band of men must have
departed, and asked that I come inside to safety with her. I
acknowledged her request and followed her curiously inside.

Upon my entrance of the abode, I took a few steps inside, and I was
quickly surrounded. Druidic men and women of all statures piled around
me, brandishing their staffs and bows. It was all a cleverly
orchestrated heist, it'd seem, as they demanded that I empty my pack of
all of my belongings. Sensing that there was nothing I could do, I
handed the men my gold and items, and begged that they let me go safely.
No sooner than I had given them my things, the evil and deceptive
Druidic woman ordered them to dispose of me, and into my body a hail of
arrows were flung. I gasped in agony, as I pondered my abundantly
trusting ways, and sank to the ground, breathing my last few breaths. As
I faintly remained conscious on the ground, knowing that my final doom
approached me, I silently prayed to the Great Mother that I may live
again.

My prayer was answered, as I awoke hours, but what seemed like years
later. I looked around hesitantly, as I appeared outside of a cave. I
write this story to you all today, as a lesson I have learned. With the
best graces upon you all, I impart this knowledge, so that you may not
make the same mistake I have made, in trusting these corrupt and evil
forest dwellers. Be wary of them, wanderers of the world, and may I be
the last one to fall into their dark clutches.
