Greetings Aecius,
As Laytron and Saltaern both deemed your prior words worthy of reply, so
shall I. Though I regret having to waste my gold posting to the public
when this matter could, and should have been handled quietly and
privately, I suppose since you have enough courtesy to slander the
Merchant of the Crown's name across public news boards, I will muster up
the courtesy to point out your own indiscretions.
When I became House Leader in 470, to my surprise, I received a letter
from you stating that you wished to have the Shrine in the Merchant
House Hall removed. One, I might add, that had been there for more than
a hundred years. You gave many reasons for the Shrine's removal, and
once they were dismissed as unimportant, you began making more excuses
to have it removed. Indeed, several times in our interview you insulted
our House, as well as stating that we no longer held the integrity of a
House that had been Patroned by Lord Prospero. You also stated that our
House had been led astray from our original purpose, and no longer
conformed with the Order of Wealth and Trade's own purpose.
Aside from that, yes, we had a verbal agreement that I saw fit as
binding. Neither you nor I even discussed a written agreement between
ourselves, because I, for one, believed you had the integrity to never
pull a stunt such as the one you have. In our agreement, we both stated
that the Shrine would be considered property of the Merchants of the
Crown, as long as the Shrine came to no harm under our care, and we
continued to see to the upkeep of said shrine. We also stated that the
Order of Wealth and Trade would make no claims of property to the Shrine
and would not seek its removal unless the agreement had been broken.
During my years as leader, I was very much aware of all of the
happenings in the House hall. In fact, I made sure that I took the time
out of my busy schedule each month to check on said Shrine. Due to the
fact that Lord Prospero was a beloved Patron, Who, I myself held in high
regard, I wished to keep the Shrine for the sentimental value that it
had to our House. Unfortuantely, due to your actions, that is no longer
an option.
You say that I have forgotten the agreement we made. I beg to differ. I
remember everything that we agreed on during that meeting. I am sure
that my secretaries at the time remember it as well, seeing as I
discussed it with them during our meeting. I am sure that you, sir, are
the one who is mistaken in what transpired, or maybe you simply don't
care enough to hold to your own word when dealing with business and
Order matters.
Now, you also state that our security is lacking due to the fact that
you lied to a member of the House in Order to gain access to 'Check on
the Shrine'. Indeed, the young woman that you tricked knew you to be the
Head of the Order to which the Shrine belonged, so why would she believe
you would harm your own shrine? I disagree with her readiness to allow
you entrance, but I do not see your point in saying this. Perhaps
because there is no point aside from this:
You should not be surprised by my actions. In fact, by now you should
know that I do not take action merely on my own whim. The decision to
enemy you to the Merchants was not mine alone, I simply carried out the
deed of declaring you an enemy to the House. Due to your trespassing
which resulted in the destruction of what we considered to be a very
valued piece of sentimental property, I hope that you will never be
allowed on Hashan or Merchant soil again.
I believe that once upon a time, Lord Prospero made a good decision in
making you Order Head. As of now, I would say you have disgraced His
name in every way possible.
If you wish to address me further, please do so in an appropriate
manner. I do not wish to waste my time replying to your posts that I am
sure Sapience does not wish to fumble through when they can be reading
something of importance to their own selves.
